Fitzgerald Masterplan

Project Location: Detroit, MI

Client: Century Partners

The Fitzgerald Project in Detroit will transform 165 acres of blighted structures and vacant lots into economically self-sustaining, productive agricultural landscapes. The pilot project will initiate the transformation these hundreds of vacant lots into urban orchards, gardens, parks, and a greenway to collect to connect the University of Detroit Mercy and Marygrove College. Bike paths and the winding greenway that connect the larger communities are dappled with artistic pieces, solar lighting and a large increase in the number of planted trees. The city hopes to create new, safer housing, create a more beautiful and pedestrian friendly area that also promotes manageable green lots and proximity to necessities.
