In the heart of downtown Boston, Emerson is re-imagining the front door to the college and theatre district with a realignment of Boylston Street. The public realm will be expanded along this main thoroughfare in front of the Colonial Theatre, creating a more pedestrian-focused approach to the busy streetscape.  A new crosswalk will facilitate walkable access from Boston Common.  A distinct sidewalk paving pattern, granite sculptural benches, lush plantings, dynamic lighting, and flexible cafe-style seating complete this updated arts hub.
