We are excited to be working on a project in Portland, Oregon. This arts project will be located on the historic Sellwood Bridge, an important threshold that connects Portland across the Willamette River. Dubbed “the Stratum Project,”  our design is a series of geologic totems, inspired by the power and beauty of the geologic and natural phenomena of the Willamette River Valley. Layers of various recycled and formed materials create a stitched surface that represents earth, water and sky within each totem. Together, these totems frame the bridge as the gateway to the Sellwood community.
