Located on the ninth floor of the John Hancock Tower, this ‘look-out’ deck was conceived as a green space to enjoy the incredible views of Boston and Cambridge skylines. Because of the unique challenges of the roof garden’s demanding micro-climate, collaboration with multiple experts was crucial to the successful design of the space, including wind specialists, structural engineers, architects and even window washers. The visual appeal of the garden is maintained by the variable heights, colors, and textures of the planting network.
