Stevens-Coolidge Place Masterplan
Project Location: North Andover, MA
Client: The Trustees
Architect: Maryann Thompson Architects
Photographer: Robert Benson
The 38-acre Stevens Coolidge Place Masterplan is centered around this early 20th century estate with its historic home and gardens. Newly expanded all-season gardens with horticultural interest are proposed on this summer home of Helen Stevens Coolidge and her husband, John Gardner Coolidge- a diplomat descended from Thomas Jefferson and a nephew of Isabella Stewart Gardner. Working closely with the Trustees of Reservations land preservation collection in Massachusetts, our team developed a phased strategy for expansion that celebrates the unique botanic legacy of the Stevens-Coolidge Estate. The Masterplan includes a new visitors center and additional programmed gardens as well as a restored meadow.
